TON program: November 27, 2014

October 17, 2014

Our next TON (The Outsourcing Network) program on November 27 which will be held at DSB, will focus on people. Some of the relevant areas of focus will be cultures, HR organizations, organizational structures, and the human side of outsourcing. DSB will have a presentation or two and some of the possible topics currently include DSB (IT) as a first-time outsourcer (their decision in early 2013 to outsource all operations): DSB’s organizational readiness; the need to re-align staffing and competencies in the retained organization; and the business logic behind the decision. We are also planning to have several member challenges related to the day’s theme as well.

TON is a cross-industry and cross-functional private network focused on outsourcing and offshoring. Our purpose in TON is to focus on the tools, processes and structures that support working across organizations. We’re not looking at specific technical solutions although it is sometimes relevant to describe these to some extent to get an idea of how the whole fits together (e.g. at October’s TON program we got a bit of detail about Arla’s shared SLAs). As different industries and functions have different approaches to this work, we’re hoping that sharing that kind of information will help and inspire all of us.

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and Danmarks Teknisk Universtitet (DTU) are on our Academic Advisory Board and are actively committed to our network. Our members currently include: FOSS, DSB, LEGO, Novozymes, Lundbeck, ISS, Vestas, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Arla, Danish Crown, LEO, Danske Bank, Carlsberg, GN, IO Interactive, Xellia Pharmaceuticals, FLSAirtech, and COWI.
