The decision and the consequences of switching vendors: Carlsberg

November 1, 2013

Our program planning for the upcoming TON network meeting on November 21 at Carlsberg is falling into place. The overall them for the day is “From vendor management to partnering”.

One focus area will be switching vendors. We will have Lars Vestergaard, CIO, Carlsberg come with insight into the strategy behind the decision to switch vendors from IBM to TCS. Coming with a bit more tactical view, John Søderstrøm, Technology Sourcing Lead, Carlsberg, will surface the consequences of this decision on the organization.

Also on the program is the topic of vendor management (VM) as an organizational function. Thomas Steinmetz, Head of Vendor Management, Carlsberg will provide perspective on the visions and plans for the VM function at Carlsberg; and Jørgen Debois, Head of Vendor Management, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, will provide an interesting comparison on the function from the perspective of the pharma industry.

We are also planning on an interesting session lead by Peter Halskov Vestergaard, VP, IT Service Management, Technology & Operations, Danske Bank who will present on getting supplier “from red to green” with a particular focus on being “a performing vendor as a prerequisite of becoming a partner”.

There will be ample small group discussion throughout the day and our TON community will have a great opportunity to continue its peer-learning work.
